TAKING CARE OF YOUR BALLOONS AFTER COLLECTION AND DELIVERY

Balloons are the divas of party decor, needing a gentle touch! Steer them clear of sharp things, rough spots, walls, and basically treat them with care—one poke, and poof! Squeezing them into tight spaces like cars is a no-go; they’re not fans of cramped quarters.

Heat turns balloons into drama queens, expanding until they burst. Keep your car cool as a cucumber when picking them up and en route to your shindig. If it’s freezing, don’t worry if they shrivel a bit—they’ll perk up once they’re back in warmer temperatures.

A helium-filled foil (Mylar) balloon that has shrunk in the cold will begin to re-expand and return to its normal shape when returned to a comfortable room temperature, typically around 65°F to 72°F (18°C–22°C).

Key Details on Temperature Effects:

Contraction Temperature: Helium inside a foil balloon starts to contract, and the balloon appears deflated at temperatures below 45-50°F (7-10°C).
Re-expansion: As soon as the balloon is brought back into a warm room, the helium molecules gain energy, and the balloon will return to its original shape.
Optimal Temperature: The ideal, safe temperature to keep helium foil balloons, preventing both extreme contraction (cold) and over-expansion (heat), is 65-72°F.
Caution: Avoid placing a cold, shrunken balloon directly on a hot radiator, as extreme temperature changes can cause damage.

Foil balloons are more susceptible to these temperature changes than latex, as they do not stretch and instead look noticeably deflated in the cold.

TOP TIP - Children should always be fully supervised around balloons due to choking and strangulation hazards.

Kids and balloons? Supervise to avoid any surprise pop leading to a choking hazard, and those long ribbons can be a strangulation hazard.
