These are perfect for parties, weddings, or photo backdrops!
Materials You’ll Need:
Balloons (various sizes, preferably white and pastel colors)
Tulle fabric (white or light shades; about 1–2 meters depending on size)
Fishing line, string, or clear thread
Balloon pump (optional but helpful)
Tape or glue dots (optional for extra stability)
Scissors
Step 1: Inflate the Balloons
Inflate a mix of small, medium, and large balloons.
Tie them securely. Using various sizes will give your “cloud” a soft, fluffy look.
Tip: You can also use helium for floating clouds or just air for hanging them on the wall.
Step 2: Create the Balloon Cluster
Group the balloons together in clusters.
Tie or twist the balloon knots together, or use fishing line to secure them.
Aim for an irregular, fluffy shape—avoid making it too uniform. Real clouds aren’t perfect!
Step 3: Prepare the Tulle
Cut your tulle into strips, about 6–12 inches wide and long enough to drape over your balloon cluster.
You can also layer multiple pieces for extra volume.
Step 4: Attach the Tulle to the Balloons
Drape the tulle over your balloon cluster, letting it fall naturally like a cloud.
Use tape or glue dots to secure the tulle at the balloon knots or tie small strips of tulle around the balloons.
Adjust the tulle so it puffs out—think soft, airy, floating cloud shapes.
Step 5: Add Finishing Touches
Add fairy lights under the tulle for a magical glow.
Sprinkle in some small pastel balloons for a dreamy “floating cloud” effect.
Hang the cloud from the ceiling using fishing line or attach it to a backdrop wall.
Pro Tips for a Perfect Cloud Nine Balloon:
Use different tulle textures (soft, fine, or glittery) for depth.
Make multiple clouds of different sizes for a floating cloud ceiling effect.
If hanging, attach the balloons to a lightweight frame or hula hoop for stability.
